Have you tried paddle boarding?

If you’ve been to a lake this summer you are sure to have noticed the increase in Stand-up Paddleboards (SUPs) out on the water this year! “SUPing” is a wonderful form of exercise that challenges your balance, core strength, and cardiovascular system. With our short seasons, who doesn’t love an opportunity for some sunshine and water time?!

A quick physio tip – if you are feeling restricted in your shoulders when paddling – it might be your upper back! Give this quick exercise a try before you head out on the water next time! Make sure to drive the movement from your chest/upper back as you reach with your arm. If all of the movement is at the shoulder, your upper back needs a bit more mobility.

As always, if you have any questions, reach out to any of our therapists.
