How do you measure up?
It sounds like a trick question…Many of us have been told during our childhood to stand straight or not to slouch. The tricky part is that most of us don’t know exactly what ‘straight’ is…finding and maintaining an optimal posture is key to healing some injuries and especially in preventing their return. You may experience headaches, neck/back pain, repetitive strain injuries or poor positioning tolerance if you do not have good posture. Your physiotherapist can help you to find that optimal posture and stretch or strengthen appropriately to stay there. It’s not always what exercises you do but how you do it. Physiotherapists can teach you to do your exercises properly to optimize your results.
