Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

IMS is a dry needling technique using acupuncture needles to loosen tight bands of muscle tissue that may be creating pain or causing compression on a nerve that in turn causes pain. This type of dysfunction, called neuropathic pain, is frequently part of chronic conditions. This type of treatment is particularly good for muscles that won’t stay released with stretching or massage.

More information about IMS needling can be found HERE.

Examples of conditions for which IMS can be very effective:

      • Headaches

      • TMJ dysfunction

      • Chronic neck/back pain

      • Stiff hips, shoulders

      • Altered movement patterns for things like walking or lifting up your arm
